Schwab Volunteers

Welcome Schwab Employees!
Charles Schwab has a long culture of investing in its communities through philanthropy and volunteer service. As a member of the DFW community for more than 40 years, Schwab is excited to support the Charles Schwab Challenge and its storied history of generating support and funds for more than 150 local nonprofits annually.
What You Get

Volunteering for the Charles Schwab Challenge for any number of days, automatically meets the financial-fitness requirement for the Schwab Time to Volunteer (TTV) benefit. Eligible employees may use the balance of their TTV hours in accordance with the TTV benefit. In addition, employee volunteers will receive a complimentary tournament volunteer package, including:

Charles Schwab Challenge Volunteer Polo Shirt

Charles Schwab Challenge Volunteer Hat

Tournament Volunteer Credential

Parking Pass

Food and Beverage Voucher

Four unique volunteer opportunities have been made available to Schwab’s DFW employees on a first-come, first-serve basis. In all, more than 100 volunteer shifts offer the participation in activities for local active and retired military members, guidance for youth tournament volunteers from The First Tee of Fort Worth and various Charles Schwab Challenge events.

Interested in a larger role in working throughout the week as a tournament volunteer?

The following opportunities provide Schwab employees with the chance to go behind the scenes of one of Fort Worth’s largest annual events. To learn more about the tournament volunteer committee opportunities available to you, please click on each opportunity name for expanded information. Once you have chosen your volunteer activity, follow the directions and input the unique code to register.
Special Note:
These opportunities are managed directly by the Tournament Volunteer Committees. Eligible employees who wish to volunteer within a tournament committee may use 8-hours of their discretionary Schwab “TTV” hours, but the remainder must be taken as a floating holiday or vacation time. Additional days taken to volunteer must also be approved by the individual’s direct report.

Volunteer Experience

The Lady Scorers are one of the closest groups to the action throughout the week. Lady Scorers are assigned to a pairing of PGA TOUR professionals and then are asked to walk inside the ropes, alongside the group, while they capture and record player scores in real-time; as well as document shot information (lie, location, distance, etc.) It requires a good understanding of the rules of golf and golf etiquette, along with a professional appearance and attitude.

Each day of being a Lady Scorer requires working outdoors, being prepared for all weather conditions and being able to walk all 18-holes.

Additionally, Schwab employees must watch required training video and attend one weekend training session weekend prior to tournament. There is an afternoon of training required in May on site.
